Students on the Leadership Development Team have two kinds of opportunities. First, they develop goals as a team that they seek to achieve via working in small groups. Largely, these goals aim to improve the student experience at DWU while expanding the horizons of the team members themselves. Second, the team members are given extra notification of fun events, contests and programs that they may be interested in. In this way, students get a chance to ‘try out’ different organizations to see if they may be a good fit for them. Additionally, the team members serve as the ‘go-to’ students to be asked to take on leadership roles further into their college experience. There are no membership rules for being on the Leadership Development Team, and participation is voluntary. In this way, each team member gets to tailor his or her level of involvement to fit individual schedules, preferences and interests. If you are interested in joining the Leadership Development Team or finding out more, contact Jacki Miskimins. Don’t worry if you aren’t sure exactly how you want to get involved – that’s what this group is for!
*If your program or organization would like to work with the Leadership Development Team or invite them to an event, please contact Jacki Miskimins. |
