In 1996 Dakota Wesleyan University created recognition societies to acknowledge alumni and friends for their generous support. The university honors alumni, friends and businesses during an annual event called the Patrons’ Banquet.

John Wesley Society Those who contribute $1,000 or more annually to the Wesleyan Fund	Heritage Roll of Honor Those who include DWU in their estate plans.
Cumulative Gift Awards Those who have given $10,000 or more cumulatively since 1986.
Legacy Award Cumulative gifts of $5,000,000 or more.   John Wesley Award Cumulative gifts of $1,000,000 or more.   William I. Graham Award Cumulative gifts of $500,000 or more.   Cross and Flame Award Cumulative gifts of $250,000 or more.   Sacrifice or Service Award Cumulative gifts of $100,000 or more.   President’s Award Cumulative gifts of $50,000 or more.   Tumbleweed Award Cumulative gifts of $25,000 or more.   Scotchman Award Cumulative gifts of $10,000 or more.
