large, Human Services is a major you should consider. Human Services
is an applied social science that prepares students for a variety
of helping professions. We have graduates employed with local and
state human service organizations across the nation. Dakota Wesleyan
University's Human Services Department has a long-standing reputation
as a premiere program with high quality graduates.

EXPERIENCED FACULTY:
Our faculty brings a wealth of experience into the classroom. Before
teaching at Dakota Wesleyan University, all were respected professionals
in their field of expertise, locally and nationally. All continue
their involvement in areas such as mental health, counseling, chemical
dependency and domestic violence, as practitioners, consultants and
volunteers. Students benefit greatly from their mentoring.

PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE:
An excellent classroom education is only the beginning of what students
can expect from Dakota Wesleyan's Human Services program. Students
are provided the opportunity for on-going practical experience with
local agencies and service organizations. The capstone experience
for Human Services majors is a professional semester with a human
service agency matched to the student’s career goals. These
service-learning experiences open many doors for students and often
lead to employment. |
