DWU's medical insurance is provided by DAKOTACARE, the health maintenance organization
of the South Dakota Medical Association.

- Coverage begins the first day of the month following date of employment
- $750 annual individual deductible
- $1500 annual family deductible
- Maximum out-of-pocket: individual $2250; family $4500
- $2,000,000 per individual maximum life time benefit
- Member-provider network
- Preauthorization of hospitalization and mental health care is required
Employees should present their DAKOTACARE wallet cards to their physician's
offices and pharmacies at each visit.
