| Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer |

Dakota Wesleyan University is a member of the Great Plains Athletic Conference, one of the most competitive small college conferences in the NAIA. The University is seeking to fill the position of Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer. This individual will be expected to focus on the prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. They will also function as a Clinical Instructor in the CAATE accredited Athletic Training Education Program. Possible AT coverage includes: Athletic Training Room coverage, Softball and overlapping season coverage. Hours of work are variable according to athletic schedules and may include early morning, nights and weekends. The position will require adherence to all NAIA and GPAC rules and regulations as well as the policies and procedures set forth by the DWU Athletic Training Department.
This is a 10-month position with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2012. Compensation includes a full tuition waiver, $7,000 annual stipend and $500 for dues, memberships and license.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree required. BOC certified by August 1st, 2012 and be eligible for licensure within the state of South Dakota. Successful candidates should display strong athletic training knowledge, excellent communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to the mission of DWU and our values of learning, leadership, faith, and service.

| Assistant/Associate Professor of Education |

Dakota Wesleyan University, a four year private liberal arts university affiliated with the United Methodist Church and located in Mitchell, South Dakota, is accepting applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Education with a focus in secondary and middle level education to begin August, 2012. Dakota Wesleyan University's Department of Education offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees and is connected to a local elementary school which enables active engagement of students in the learning process. This on campus "lab" provides a unique experience both for faculty and students.
Responsibilities: Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in secondary education methods, middle level methods, educational psychology, human relations, and other education courses; supervise students during field experiences; serve as advisor to the Future Teacher Organization; and advise students. This individual must possess strong interpersonal communication skills and work well with faculty, students and cooperating educators in the public schools, and demonstrate a strong working knowledge of current research and best practices in instructional methods. Responsibilities also include active participation in Department of Education curriculum revisions, program development and assessment, development and instruction of on-line and interactive distance learning courses, campus and professional community service activities, recruitment, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will meet the following criteria: (1) Ph.D., Ed.D., or ABD in curriculum and instruction, education administration, or related field is required; candidates with an Ed.S., M.A./M.S. or Ed.S. in curriculum and instruction, education administration, or related field of education with years of successful teaching experience in secondary and middle level education may apply; (2) previous experience in teaching in post-secondary education is preferred; (3) minimum three years of successful teaching experience at the middle and/or high school level in a regionally accredited U.S. school; (4) is currently a certified teacher in secondary and middle level education and must have a demonstrated commitment to the DWU mission and values of learning, leadership, faith and service.

Dakota Wesleyan University is seeking a dynamic, energetic and professional individual to join our admissions staff. This position will be responsible for recruitment of traditional and non-traditional aged students from a geographic territory, including travel, tele-counseling, territory management, and recruitment activities on and off campus. This individual will also assist in counseling prospective students and families and participate in the selection of applicants for admission. Weekend and evening work is routine and should be expected as part of the normal recruitment process.
Admissions staff accurately and enthusiastically portray the university's educational programs, expected outcomes, student services, and financial considerations to students, parents and educators. | Assistant or Associate Professor of Digital Communication and Web Design |

Dakota Wesleyan University, a private four year liberal arts university affiliated with the United Methodist Church, is seeking to fill a full-time position in the Department of Communications at the rank of assistant or associate professor of Digital Communication and Web Design beginning August, 2012.
Successful candidates will have a MFA, PhD or a master's degree in a related field plus extensive professional experience. The applicant will become the director of a new major in Digital Communications and Web Design within the Department of Communications in the College of Arts and Humanities. He or she will teach a number of various undergraduate courses such as Communication and Media, Desktop Publishing, and Web Page Design and Development. This position involves working with the journalism program, so the candidate will also have a knowledge of media law and help direct the efforts of the Phreno Cosmian, Dakota Wesleyan's student newspaper. Familiarity with the current industry standard practices in web design and development is required.
Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching. The teaching load is eight classes per year. Successful candidates must be able to utilize innovative teaching strategies to meet the learning needs of a diverse student population. The candidate will also be expected to maintain professional competence in the subject area and currency in instructional methodologies through professional associations and professional development and participate in curriculum development, writing, implementation, and review in accordance with university and college concerns. The candidate will also serve as an academic advisor to students in the Digital Communications and Web Design program.
