Linton-O'Byrne Endowed Professor of Elementary Education [Top of Page] Dakota Wesleyan University is proud to invite applications for the newly established Linton-O'Byrne Endowed Professor of Elementary Education. This endowed faculty position is named in honor and memory of two South Dakota educators dedicated to elementary education. Their generous gifts have supported the education program at Dakota Wesleyan for several years in the areas of educational technology and faculty development. DWU is honored now to establish a permanent faculty position in their names. This Assistant Professor, tenure-track position will begin in August 2002. DWU seeks candidates with the ability to teach courses in the Education Department and assist with the supervision of student teachers. The area of specialization is open, but expertise and interest in special education, language arts/reading, and or technology applications in education is an asset. Candidates with a completed Ph.D. (in curriculum and instruction or related field) and 5+ years experience in K-8 education are preferred. Dakota Wesleyan University is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and seeks candidates who embrace the mission of church-related, liberal arts education.
