Employers
DWU’s internship program is designed to allow students a great deal of flexibility in selecting and arranging their internship experiences. Students may choose to receive academic credit for their internships as part of their studies, or they may use their internship experience as an opportunity for personal learning goals and career exploration.
Employers may want an intern to work on special projects, perform specific assignments, or rotate through several areas of the organization. Internship experiences are found in a variety of settings – for profit, nonprofit and government.
If your organization already has an internship program, consider selecting DWU students as interns. If you are just beginning an internship program, we would be happy to work with you in structuring your internship program. We look forward to working with you in the future.
Fair Labor Standards Act
Employers must be aware of and ensure compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). For information on the Department of Labor guidelines regarding internship programs and compensation, see the fact sheet.
