Outlook Web
Access
You can log on to your DWU e-mail account
from anywhere you have web access to read and send e-mail messages, create
and manage your list of contacts, and schedule appointments using Microsoft
Outlook Web Access (OWA).
Network and E-mail username and password
Your DWU username will be the first two letters of your first name and up to
the first six letters of your last name (if your last name is six letters or
fewer you will use your entire last name). For new students who have not
previously logged on to the network or into e-mail your initial password
will be your student ID number plus the four digit year of your birth (below
there are instructions for changing your password using Outlook Web Access).
Your e-mail address will be your username@dwu.edu.
Supported browsers and
operating systems
You can use OWA with a number of web browsers, including Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape
Navigator, Opera, and Mozilla Firefox from many UNIX, Apple Macintosh, or Microsoft
Windows-based computers. Since OWA is a Microsoft product using Internet
Explorer (version 6 or later) will give you access to the complete set of
features available with OWA.
1. Open your browser (i.e. Internet
Explorer or Netscape) and go to: www.dwu.edu
2. Click on Campus E-mail

You will be directed to the OWA log on page:

|
3. Enter your e-mail
address in the Email Address text box. Enter your password in the
Password text box. Make sure that the Client and Security settings are
as shown in the image above. Click the Log On button.
Remember: your password is case sensitive. If you have
trouble logging in, check your CAPS LOCK key and make sure it is not on.
If everything was entered correctly, you will move onto the next screen,
if not, you will be given another chance to enter your log on
information. |
If the credentials you supplied
are valid, Outlook will open inside your Web browser and you will be logged
into the Outlook Web Access Mailbox dialog shown below:
IMPORTANT:
Remember to Log Off AND close the browser
after you finish. When you finish using Outlook Web Access, be
sure to click Log Off
in the toolbar, and then close all browser windows. Logging off helps
prevent someone else from using the computer to access your mailbox.
Even if you plan to continue using the computer to visit other Web
sites, click Log Off and close all browser windows after every
Outlook Web Access session.
