Setting Windows to control your wireless network card

Requirements:
Windows XP SP2 or later
Wireless network card

Note:
If these instructions do not work, ple
ase consult the user's manual of your wireless card for instructions turn off its control software.

1. Double-click on the wireless icon (it looks like a monitor with waves coming out of it) in the taskbar(near the clock).



2. It will bring up the "Wireless Network Connection Status" window.



3. Click "View Wireless Networks" to bring up the "Wireless Network Connection" window.



4. Click on "Change advanced settings" to bring up the "Wireless Network Connection Properties" window.



5.Click on the "Wireless Networks" tab.



6. Click to place a check in the box next to "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings"

7. Click "OK." You should now be back to the desktop and should see a bubble notification like the one below.



8.Double-click on the wireless icon in the taskbar to verify that Windows is now controlling your wireless network settings.



9. Close the "Wireless Network Connection" window.
