DWU Supports you and your computer

DWU's helpdesk staff will provide support to help you with your computer problems.  We cannot provide vendor specific support such as warranty work and hardware repair, but we will help diagnose your computer hardware problems and install hardware upgrades for you.  To receive support, just schedule a time with the helpdesk, and the staff will work with you to accomplish your request.

In order to obtain support, your computer must meet all memory and speed requirements of the required operating system and any applications.  Additionally, the listed operating systems are the only operating systems that are supported.  Your computer must be registered within the network domain in order to access any network resources including the Internet.

If you have an older computer that can be upgraded with additional memory or a newer operating system, we can perform this upgrade for you.  You will need to provide the original software disks, license keys, hardware and any other required materials to perform the upgrade.

You do not need to buy Microsoft Office when you are looking for a computer.  A benefit of being a student at DWU entitles you to use one of the university licenses for the Microsoft Office 2007 applications and the Windows operating system.  You will be legally licensed to use this software while you are a student at DWU.  You can purchase the media disks from the bookstore, or you may schedule a time with the helpdesk to have the application installed onto your computer.

If you have other software and hardware that you would like to install, and you are not comfortable installing it yourself, just let us know.  We can schedule and perform the installation for you.  Just remember, you will need to provide the software disks, software license, and hardware drivers.  Please be sure to schedule this work ahead of time prior to needing your computer for class work.
