The Arlene Gates Department of Nursing at Dakota Wesleyan University aspires to prepare students for meaningful careers in professional nursing in a liberal arts setting. The nursing department fosters professional growth, leadership, lifelong learning and commitment to service. For those students meeting nursing admission criteria, the DWU nursing faculty will begin advising students in class selection and giving guidance in the proper sequence of classes. Students may complete a Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing within four years at DWU.
After successful completion of all nursing coursework and needed support courses, students will have satisfied the academic requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and are eligible to take the National Council Licensing Examination (NCLEX) for licensure as an R.N.
