What do our students and alumni say? Here are some comments
about the physical education major at DWU.
Tiff Bottum – “My
favorite part of this major was when we started the education classes
and had to come up with P.E. lessons and teach them in class. I liked
the observations that we got to do in the local and area schools because
it helps me in managing my classroom and teaching style”. – 7th
grade history teacher and head girls’ basketball and volleyball
coach in Kansas
Emily Vaughn – “As
a student in Physical Education I enjoy the students and the physical
activities that I get to be around every day. I love the fact that
I get to interact with adults, young adults and children all of the
time. I am so happy I chose this as my occupation, as I look forward
to going to work everyday! Two major doors have opened up for me and
they are the opportunity to coach three different sports and to work
on my master’s degree.” – 7-12th grade health and
physical education teacher, head volleyball coach, junior high boys’ basketball
coach, and assistant junior high track coach in Tilden, Nebr.
Laura Weiers – “I
really enjoyed working with the entire physical education staff. They
played a large part in my decision to attend graduate school for physical
therapy in Arizona.”
Bryan Fuks – “What
I really enjoyed about the major was the opportunity to go out into
the schools and teach the children. I also got lucky enough to have
the chance to coach boys’ basketball while I was student teaching.” – working
on a degree in nuclear medicine |
