What is physical education?

Physical education is an integral part of the total education process. Its goal is the development of physically, mentally, socially and emotionally fit citizens using physical activities that have been selected and planned to achieve specific outcomes.

What opportunities are available for the physical education major at Dakota Wesleyan University?

The DWU Physical Education Department has great opportunities for students. There are two paths from which to choose at Dakota Wesleyan University, as well as two endorsements. These majors and endorsements include:

• Physical Education Teacher Education Program (teaching track)
• Sport and Exercise (nonteaching track)
  • Coaching Endorsement
  • Comprehensive School Health Endorsement
