Peter, Paul & Mary tickets go on sale

MITCHELL, S.D. — Tickets for the Peter, Paul & Mary ‘Conversation and Concert’ go on sale at 9 a.m., Aug. 1 at the Corn Palace Box Office (www.cornpalacefestival.com).

The legendary folk musicians kick off the McGovern Dedication celebration at 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 5. Peter, Paul & Mary will invite George and Eleanor McGovern on stage with them to reminisce. The concert will follow that conversation.

Peter, Paul & Mary, musicians Peter Yarrow, Noel (a.k.a. Paul) Stookey and Mary Travers, have been together for more than 43 years. As a folk music group, they’ve won five Grammy awards, produced 13 Top 40 hits, of which six ascended into the Top 10, as well as eight gold and five platinum albums. They are known for such hits as “If I Had a Hammer,” “Puff (The Magic Dragon)” and “Leaving on a Jet Plane.”
