July 31, 2006 Federal funding expected to
assist in MITCHELL – DWU stands to receive $170,000 in funding from the FY2007 Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Appropriations bill. The legislation passed the Senate Appropriations Committee on July 19, 2006. The bill is now ready for consideration by the full Senate. DWU has requested funding to catalog, archive and prepare material for display in the McGovern Library. Once prepared, materials would be available to the public for viewing and research. The facility will serve as a repository, laboratory, and a center for the development of future leaders. The McGovern Library dedication is set for Oct. 5-7. For more information,
