Still time to apply for DWU’s Huron nursing program

“I enjoy the small class size, and the one-on-one attention really helps me learn,” says Stephanie Mehling, Wessington. Also pictured is her instructor, Janice Ford.

MITCHELL, S.D. – DWU’s Huron site announces openings in the nursing program for fall 2006. Students may complete the nursing program, pass the national licensing exam (NCLEX-RN) and begin practicing as a registered nurse in two years.

DWU’s Huron site limits class sizes to 24 students. All nursing, general education and support courses in the nursing curriculum are offered in Huron Towers or online. The nursing program is located at the Huron Towers, and clinical experiences are completed in Huron health care facilities.

For the past 25 years, DWU has provided a high-quality associate of arts nursing program. The DWU nursing program in Huron began in 2005 to provide a nursing education opportunity for Huron and surrounding communities and to provide a stable source of registered nurses for the area.

The Huron nursing faculty members have a combined 25 years of nursing education experience. Nursing faculty are Janice Ford, RN, MSN; Kerri Ford, RN, BSN; and Adele Jacobson, RN, Ed.D.

For more information or to apply, contact the DWU admissions office at 1-800-333-8506, 605-995-2600 or admissions@dwu.edu. Adele Jacobson, RN, Ed.D., Huron Site Coordinator, 605-352-2662 or adjacobs@dwu.edu.
