DWU Christmas concert events announced

MITCHELL – The music department at Dakota Wesleyan University will host its annual Christmas program on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 10, at 3 p.m., at the Sherman Center.

“What Child is This?” will feature the Dakota Wesleyan Choir, Wesleyan University/Community Band and Wesleyan Bells. Paul Almjeld is the artistic director for the event and conductor of the Wesleyan Choir. Susan Almjeld is the director of the Wesleyan Bells, and Brad Berens leads the University/Community Band. General admission to both concerts is free and tickets must be reserved in advance.

Danna McCloud, a student at DWU, won the campus competition to design the cover of the Christmas program.

This year’s event will feature a dinner on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 6 p.m. in the East Main Dining Room of the Rollins Campus Center.

Those attending the dinner will receive reserved tickets to the concert. Dinner tickets are $14 and must be reserved by Nov. 27 by calling the DWU Institutional Advancement office at 995-2603.
