Garnos speaks at McGovern Conference

MITCHELL – Cooper Garnos, 1991 graduate of Dakota Wesleyan University, participated on a panel discussion during the 2006 McGovern Conference at DWU in Mitchell.

Garnos sat on a panel with Paula Larson, environmental specialist, and Dusty Johnson, public utilities commissioner. The panel was moderated by Donald Simmons, director of the McGovern Center for Leadership and Public Service.

"What impressed me was just how committed Cooper is to making a difference," said Simmons. "Hopefully, through the McGovern Center we can help others who have the same goal of service to humankind realize their potential."

Garnos is a member of the South Dakota House of Representatives. He is a teacher, a farmer/rancher and a small business owner in Lyman County.
