Music About Music at DWU

MITCHELL – Music weekend at Dakota Wesleyan University is Oct. 20-22. The public is invited to all of these free events.

Friday, Oct. 20–Music ’n’ Movies. Enjoy several favorite musicals. “Phantom of the Opera,” “Oliver” and “South Pacific” will be shown beginning at 6 p.m. in the Sherman Center.

Saturday, Oct. 21–Music about Music. The Wesleyan Choir and the Highlanders will perform a variety of pieces where music is the central theme. Included will be “Music Spread Thy Voice Around,” “Bring, O Morn, Thy Music,” “Let There Be Music,” “O Music,” “Your Voices Tune” and the theme song from “The Sound of Music.” Music begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Sherman Center.

Sunday, Oct. 22–More Music about Music. The university/community band and the Wesleyan Bells will offer more examples of music about music–show tunes, dance tunes and folk tunes will be performed in the Sherman Center at 3 p.m.
