DWU homecoming candidates named

MITCHELL – Candidates for homecoming king and queen have been selected at Dakota Wesleyan University.

Coronation will be at 7 p.m. on Sept. 24 in the Sherman Center. The theme of this year’s homecoming is “Once upon a time.”

Kelly Haiar, Alexandria, has been selected as a candidate for homecoming queen. Haiar is a biology major with an associate degree in nursing. She is the daughter of Terry and Kathy Haiar.
Scott Eyears, Brisbane, Australia, has been selected as a candidate for homecoming king. Eyears is a sports management major. He is the son of Sharon Eyears.

LeTecia Johnson, Custer, has been selected as a candidate for homecoming queen. Johnson is a biology major with a chemistry minor. She is the daughter of Greg and LaTonya Johnson.
Rod Hawkins, Eielson AFB, Alaska, has been selected as a candidate for homecoming king. Hawkins is a sports management major with a minor in business administration. He is the son of Rodrick Sr., and Connie Hawkins.

Keri Nebelsick, Canistota, has been selected as a candidate for homecoming queen. Nebelsick is a double major in biology and math, and a biochemistry minor. She is the daughter of Larry and Dawn Nebelsick.
Rodney Moore, Detroit, has been selected as a candidate for homecoming king. Moore is a double major in art and multimedia with a minor in English. He is the son of the late Gwendolyn Allen.

Kara Overweg, Mount Vernon, has been selected as a candidate for homecoming queen. Overweg is a biology major with a biochemistry minor. She is the daughter of Albert and Ardis Overweg.
Matthew Pauley, Barrie, Ontario, Canada, has been selected as a candidate for homecoming king. Pauley is a business administration major with a minor in legal studies. He is the son of Catherine and Kevin Pauley.

Amy Price, Marquette, Neb., has been selected as a candidate for homecoming queen. Price is a music education major. She is the daughter of Dale and Sandy Price.
Lionel Riley, Chicago, has been selected as a candidate for homecoming king. Riley is a multimedia major with a minor in communications. He is the son of Linda Riley.

Jill Veidt, Winner, has been selected as a candidate for homecoming queen. Veidt is a double major in business management and human services. She is the daughter of Dan and Bobbi Viedt.
Eric Washington, Monroe, La., has been selected as a candidate for homecoming king. Washington is a criminal justice major with a behavioral science minor. He is the son of Bessie and Robert Washington.
