Annual food drive set for Aug. 26

MITCHELL – DWU students will participate in the annual Freshman Food Drive from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 26. Dakota Wesleyan students will be canvassing the city of Mitchell collecting donations for the Community Food Pantry. More than 200 freshmen, resident assistants, staff and faculty will be collecting nonperishable food items.

The food drive introduces new students to the Dakota Wesleyan motto of “Sacrifice or Service” and gives students an opportunity to benefit the Mitchell community. The food drive is a major source of items to restock the food pantry shelves. The generosity of Mitchell residents during this one collection literally puts a ton of food on the shelves.
