McGovern to speak at Oshkosh air show

MITCHELL – Former U.S. Sen. George McGovern will speak at Airventure Oshkosh, the nation’s largest air show in Oshkosh, Wis., on Thursday.

McGovern flew 35 combat missions as a B-24 bomber pilot in World War II and was decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross.

He will speak at 11:30 a.m. in front of the only still-flying B-24 Liberator Bomber. McGovern will also speak at the Air Force Museum later that day.

McGovern will also connect with a fellow airman and friend, actor Cliff Robertson.
