March 17, 2007 Regional poet to present at McGovern Center
“Critics have praised McMillan for his efforts to pen verse that the ordinary man and woman can enjoy in a relevant and meaningful way,” said Don Simmons, director of the McGovern Center. “It is poetry people from any walk of life can appreciate.” McMillan, a rancher turned poet, describes his work as “plainly written so that the reader need not seek and search for hidden meanings, unlike much of the contemporary poetry published these days.” Copies of McMillan’s books will be available for purchase in
the DWU Campus Bookstore in the McGovern Library during the event.
Lunch will be available for purchase at Java City in the library before
the reading. For more information about McGovern Center Speakers Series,
contact Donald Simmons at 995-2937 or refer to the Web site at www.mcgoverncenter.com for regular program updates. |
