Auditions set for “Baby with the Bathwater”

MITCHELL – The DWU Theatre Department will hold auditions for “Baby with the Bathwater” by Christopher Durang at 8 p.m. on Nov. 14 and 15 in Patten-Wing Theatre in Hughes Science Hall at DWU.

The cast requires two men and three women of any age. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script, a look at individual imagination and some movement on the stage.

Auditions are open to all DWU students and members of the Mitchell community. Those who need an alternate audition time or have questions, should contact the DWU Theatre Department at 995-2710.

“Baby with the Bathwater” is a bitingly satiric black comedy by one of theatre's most provocative and inventive writers. It enjoyed widespread critical and popular acceptance in its long run at Off-Broadway's Playwrights Horizons. The author's target is parenthood, which he skewers with savagely gleeful wit and characteristically outrageous humor.

The play will run Jan. 17-20, 2008.
