DWU homecoming candidates named
MITCHELL
– Candidates for homecoming king and queen have been selected
at Dakota Wesleyan University.
Coronation will be at 7 p.m. on Sept. 23 in the Sherman Center. The
theme of this year’s homecoming is “Where’s Wesley?”
Homecoming queen candidates are
- Gail Fisher, Winner. Fisher is an elementary education major. She
is the daughter of Lee and Dianne Fisher.
- Erin Haber, Sioux Falls. Haber is double majoring in elementary
education and Spanish. She is the daughter of Tom and Donna Haber.
- Katie Leuthold, Larchwood, Iowa. Leuthold is an athletic training
major. She is the daughter of Stan and Jean Leuthold.
- Holly Schramm, Winner. Schramm is a nursing major. She is the daughter
of Tom and Bobbe Schramm.
- McKenzie Slaba, Geddes. Slaba is an English Education major. She
is the daughter of Richard and Colleen Slaba.
- Kalie Whealy, Madison. Whealy is a nursing major. She is the daughter
of Mark and Lisa Whealy.

Homecoming king candidates are
- Jeffrey Bollard, Westminster, Colo. Bollard is a business major
with a minor in communications. He is the son of Dave and Pam Bollard.
- Brett Maag, Tripp. Maag is double majoring in biology and nursing.
He is the son of Terry and Hope Maag.
- Michael Molitor, Smithwick. Molitor is an English major with a concentration
in creative writing and a minor in business administration. He is
the son of Dale and Anna ChristineMolitor.
- Rudy Niewenhuis, Corsica. Niewenhuis is a business administration
major with a concentration in finance and a minor in computers and
technology. He is the son of Randy Niewenhuis and Nova Steinhauser.
- Robbie Salmonson, Plankinton. Salmonson is a criminal justice major.
He is the son of Richard and Margaret Salmonson.
- Cody Svatos, Lake Andes. Svatos is double majoring in elementary
education and agri-business with a coaching endorsement. He is the
son of Tom and Rita Svatos.

Candidates for the beanie king and queen have also been selected. Candidates
are freshmen, and traditionally they wear a beanie to all homecoming
events. The beanie king and beanie queen will be crowned at the beanie
picnic at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24 at Jackson Plaza, outside the Rollins
Campus Center.
Beanie queen candidates are Tru Boldt, Arlington; Amye Brown, Meeker,
Colo.; Katy Duffy, Platte; Mckenzie Dvoracek, Springfield; Jennifer
Miner, Cavour; and Megan Zens, Redfield. Beanie king candidates are
TeAndre Archambeau, Avon; Steve Bloch, Lesterville; Jordan Gau, Alexandria;
Lynn Geuke, Elkton; Tyler Poppen, DeSMet; and Wade Schoenfelder, Huron.
