DWU homecoming royalty crowned

MITCHELL – McKenzie Slaba and Cody Svatos were crowned homecoming royalty Sunday at Dakota Wesleyan University.

McKenzie Slaba, Geddes. Slaba is an English education major. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Sigma Tau Delta and Pi Gamma Mu. McKenzie is the senior entertainment chair for the Student Activities Board, a member of the Future Teachers Organization, and she works in the athletic office. She is the daughter of Richard and Colleen Slaba.

Cody Svatos, Lake Andes. Svatos is majoring in elementary education and agri-business, and he has a coaching endorsement. He is a member of the football team, works for Coach Sprang, participates in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Future Teachers Organization. He enjoys hanging out with friends and lifting weights. Cody works at home on the family farm during summers and throughout the year. He is the son of Tom and Rita Svatos.

The homecoming king and queen will participate in various activities during the week, including the 10:30 a.m. Blue & White Days parade on Saturday. The homecoming football game will be at 2:30 p.m. at Joe Quintal Field. DWU will play Nebraska Wesleyan University.
