April 10, 2008 Albright’s essay published in EDUCAUSE Quarterly
MITCHELL, S.D. — Mike Albright, associate professor and director of online learning at Dakota Wesleyan University, had an article published in the winter 2008 issue of EDUCAUSE Quarterly. The article, “Rethinking Academic Technology Leadership in an Era of Change,” is coauthored by John Nworie from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. Albright’s article discusses the need for campuses to have a senior academic technology officer to provide leadership across instructional technology initiatives. “Dr. Albright’s work is a call for giving technology leaders the administrative strength necessary to carry out education in the 21st century,” said Don Watt, vice president for academic affairs and dean at DWU. “While I cannot say DWU is as far along as his ideas, his pushing helps us as we strive to keep up. We are benefiting because of Mike’s continued scholarship, and schools across the country are benefiting through his sharing ideas in this article.” Albright has been at DWU since 2004 and is a leading authority in instructional technology management and leadership at the college level.
