Area high school juniors win opportunity to take a college course

MITCHELL – Sixteen area high school juniors were awarded the opportunity to take a free college course after being named recipients of the Faculty Award for Academic Excellence at Dakota Wesleyan University.

The following students are the recipients of this year’s awards.

Annually, area high school officials nominate students who are in their junior year to receive the award. The award allows the high school student to take one course at no charge for college credit.

Students have the option to take a course during the summer between their junior and senior years, during the fall or spring semester their senior year, or during the summer following their senior year. After receiving the nominations, the DWU Faculty Educational Policies and Curriculum committee selects the recipients.
