MITCHELL —Amy Novak, currently serving as vice president of enrollment services at Dakota Wesleyan University, has been named provost and executive vice president. She will assume this roll on Sept. 1. A native South Dakotan and graduate of Mitchell High School, Novak has a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in economics from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. “Simply put,” said Bob Duffett, DWU president, “Amy Novak has the requisite talent, experience and familiarity with DWU to be immeasurably effective in this position. I believe she will integrate academic quality, student life, enrollment management and athletics in a synergistic whole that will better enable us to accomplish our academic and spiritual mission.” DWU has also reorganized into three colleges: the College of Public Service and Leadership with Don Simmons, associate professor and director of the McGovern Center, as the dean; the College of Healthcare, Fitness and Sciences with Rocky Von Eye, professor of mathematics, as the dean; and the College of Arts and Humanities with Vince Redder, associate professor of English and languages, as the dean.
