Jessica Jarding, DWU AA class of 1999, instructor of nursing since 2005, is the first quarter faculty winner. Jarding was cited for her dedication, mentorship and enthusiasm.

Diana Goldammer, public relations specialist since 2006, is the first quarter staff winner. Goldammer was cited for her positive attitude, creativity and willingness to take on any task.

Donald Simmons, associate professor of public service and leadership since 2006, is the second quarter faculty winner. Simmons was cited for his desire to help his students succeed, his development of the public service and leadership program, and the leadership opportunities he creates for his students.

Karen Knoell, registrar since 2006, is the second quarter staff winner. Knoell was cited for her accuracy, professionalism and calm manner in the face of stressful situations.

The Professional Excellence Award is given three times a year to a faculty and staff member. The quarterly winners are then considered for the year-end awards for faculty and staff.

Winners are given campus recognition and a gift certificate. The award recognizes employees for “outstanding service, for exemplary commitment to the university and for making a difference in the lives of students.”

The DWU Employee Recognition Committee selects the quarterly winners from nominations submitted by faculty, staff members and students.
