DWU offers four-year graduation guarantee

MITCHELL — Dakota Wesleyan University now offers a four-year graduation guarantee to incoming freshmen.

Students who enroll in eight consecutive regular semesters as a full-time student, remain in good academic standing and fulfill other typical requirements, are guaranteed to graduate in four years with a major and a minor. Some majors must be declared when the student enters the university in order to qualify for the four-year guarantee.

If students who meet all of the criteria do not complete their degree in four years, DWU will assume the cost of necessary courses for the student’s next two consecutive semesters.

“We have always had a solid academic program which has enabled students to advance on schedule,” said Don Watt, vice president for academic affairs and academic dean. “The four-year graduation guarantee just makes public what has been our goal, and the norm, all along.”

Students must be first-time college students to be eligible for this guarantee. Academic support is available and students are encouraged to use the services.
