Highlanders named for 2008-09

MITCHELL – Dan Barnard, assistant professor and composer in residence at Dakota Wesleyan University, has named the students who will perform as the Highlanders in 2008-09.

The Highlanders will emerge next fall as an a capella doo-wop vocal jazz group. Members of this elite group are Jason Lanning, Mitchell; Tanner Lavallier, Sioux Falls; Melody Howell, Sherman, Texas; Monica Jacobson, Tripp; Kelsey Miller, Belle Fourche; and Heather Bohlander, Cavour.

The Highlanders will perform on campus and for area civic groups as they prepare for a trip to Europe over spring break in 2009. The trip is tentatively set for five days in Paris and two days in London.
