Wesleyan students attend PBL leadership conference

MITCHELL, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan University students participated in business competitions at the Phi Beta Lambda Spring Leadership Conference April 3 and 4 at the MTI Technology Center.

Those who placed and qualified for national competition are:

  • Nick Unruh, Otto, Wyo.: Management Concepts, first place (team event); Accounting Analysis and Decision Making, first place; and Accounting for Professionals, first place
  • Layne Scheveck, Billings, Mont.: Management Concepts, first place (team event); Business Law, third place

Students can select from approximately 50 competitive individual, team and chapter events. The DWU chapter is advised by Jerry Luckett.

The South Dakota Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference is a structured, two-day meeting that included business and leadership training workshops, event competition and the election of state officers. Future Business Leaders of America – Phi Beta Lambda (www.fbla.org) is a non profit vocational student organization that prepares students for careers in business and business education.
