SIFE leaders receive awards

MITCHELL – Two of Dakota Wesleyan University’s Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) leadership team members were honored with national student service awards.

Daniel Wysong, senior business major from Albuquerque, N.M., and Sarah Duff, junior public service and leadership major from Greensboro, N.C., received the SIFE Service Leadership Award and the President’s Student Service Award.

The SIFE Service Leadership Award is given to students who complete 100 hours of service through SIFE activities during the current academic year. The President’s Award is a White House initiative that is sponsored by the Corporation for National and Community Service. The students received a certificate for each of the awards and a lapel pin for the President’s Student Service Award.

DWU SIFE completed several projects, including Bunny Money, Entrepreneurship Week, SIFEAUD (SIFE Against Underage Drinking) fraud awareness, and antipiracy awareness efforts.

SIFE is a partnership between business and higher education that is preparing the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders to create a better world for everyone. Through SIFE, university students improve their communities and experience profound personal growth.
