DWU theatre auditions

I Hate HamletMITCHELL — The DWU Theatre Department will hold auditions for the comedy “I Hate Hamlet,” by Paul Rudnick from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 29 and Jan. 30 in the Patten-Wing Theatre in Hughes Science Hall.

This production requires three men and three women. Performance dates are March 27, 28, 29 and April 3, 4, 5 at the Pepsi-Cola Theatre for the Performing Arts in downtown Mitchell.

In “I Hate Hamlet,” Andrew Rally seems to have it all: celebrity and acclaim from his starring role in a hit television series; a rich, beautiful girlfriend; a glamorous, devoted agent; the perfect New York apartment; and the chance to play Hamlet in Central Park.

There are, however, a couple of glitches in paradise. The laughs are nonstop as Andrew wrestles with his conscience, his sword, and the fact that he fails as Hamlet in Central Park.

Auditions for all public performances presented by the DWU Theatre Department are open to all full-time and part-time students, as well as staff, faculty and the community. If you are unable to attend but wish to audition, contact Dan Miller to set up an alternate time, damiller@dwu.edu.
