DWU announces Heritage Day award recipients
MITCHELL, S.D. – Many of the region’s top
high school students have been awarded Dakota Wesleyan University’s
highest academic scholarships for the fall 2009 semester.
During the Heritage Day scholarship event in February,
students with outstanding academic records, service activities and
leadership potential were invited to campus to meet with faculty,
staff and students ,and further investigate the opportunities DWU
has to offer them academically and co-curricularly. A luncheon honoring
all Heritage Day participants and their families closed the program.
Many students participated in individual interviews and toured campus
as well.
Students were recognized as Randall Scholars, DWU’s
highest academic and leadership honor; as Trustee Scholars and Presidential
Scholars; Heritage Award winners in learning, leadership, faith or
service in recognition of school, community and church leadership;
and with the Bishop Leadership Award in recognition of commitment
to youth leadership within the United Methodist Church.
