Nov. 20, 2009 Share What You Wear gets organized
Dakota Wesleyan will be brimming with activity Saturday morning as people venture into the Christen Family Wellness Center for the first-ever Share What You Wear community clothing drive. Doors will open at 8 a.m. Saturday and the gym is separated into two categories – men’s and women’s – by a center-court coat rack. Toys, household items and shoes are also available. No money will exchange hands – this shopping spree is free and runs until 5 p.m. The DWU softball team is hosting the community project, with softball coach Marie McCarthy-Foster heading it up. She got the idea from a community college she used to work at in Iowa. “There, we’d have 300 people waiting outside in line to get in – in the snow,” she said. Volunteers will still be needed Saturday and willing participants can contact McCarthy-Foster at mamccart@dwu.edu, or call her at 995-2178. |
