MITCHELL — Long-time Dakota Wesleyan University basketball coach Gordie Fosness will be celebrated at a reunion set during the college’s homecoming weekend.

The Gordie Fosness reunion, held in conjunction DWU’s Blue & White Days festivities, is set for Saturday, Oct. 3, at Highland Conference Center, Mitchell. A reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. with dinner to follow at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $28, which includes dinner and a commemorative booklet on the history and highlights of Fosness’s coaching career.

All teammates, former players, fellow coaches, cheerleaders, family and friends are welcome to attend and relive some great DWU basketball moments. Fosness, a Presho native and 1957 DWU graduate, coached at the college from 1961 to 1983.

Pre-registration is required for the reunion and may be done by contacting the DWU alumni office at 605-995-2603, or by e-mail at alumni@dwu.edu. Deadline for registration is Sept. 15.
