Housing Requirements

Residency Requirements

It is the policy of Dakota Wesleyan University that all students live on campus unless they:

  • are over the age of 21.
  • are married.
  • have a dependent child living with you.
  • will be living with a parent or legal guardian within 40 miles of the campus.
  • are enrolled as a part-time student (fewer than 12 credits)
  • Any student receiving more than $12,000 in institutional aid is required to live on campus, regardless of meeting other criteria. To live off campus the student will reduce their scholarship to $12,000

If a student does not meet the above criteria but wants to live off campus, they are to submit a formal letter of appeal to the director of residence life at least one month before the start of the next semester. This letter should detail your reasons for living off campus.
