Sports Management Pro Showcase

College Basketball Pro ShowcaseIn the spring, the sports management department, led by Dr. Darryl Greene, hosts the College Basketball Pro Showcase at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, S.D. The showcase is open to college seniors who attend schools in the Midwest, and games are viewed by scouts and agents.

Many of the best basketball players from around the region compete for the opportunity to be a member of the showcase’s All-College Team. Fans in attendance vote on the All-College Team, and players who make the team get the opportunity to compete in a a pro basketball league tryout camp. They also have the opportunity to play on the North American Selects International Travel Team.

Clay tries out for Globetrotters

Santino Clay, a graduate of Dakota State University in Madison, S.D., has been invited to try out for the Harlem Globetrotters as a result of his participation in the Pro Showcase. Clay played guard for the Trojans.





 

 

Three players move from the Pro Showcase to the West Cost Hotshots

Three basketball players who participated in the first Pro Showcase at the Corn Palace are getting a taste of professional basketball.  Luke Enos, Ronnel Grant, and Will John Johnson are playing for the West Coast Hotshots of the International Basketball League.

Enos and Johson are both NAIA All-Americans who attended Black Hills State University in Spearfish, S.D.  Grant attended the University of Sioux Falls and was a 2011 All-GPAC Honorable Mention player.
