McGovern Library
Where else in Mitchell can you have gourmet coffee, talk
with a political and humanitarian legend, and pick up Wesleyan gear? The
McGovern Library is home to statesman George McGovern, the campus bookstore,
Java City coffee shop, the archives of the Dakotas Conference of the United
Methodist Church, the DWU archives, the McGovern Legacy Museum and last
but not least, the DWU library. You’ll also find smart classrooms,
the multimedia department, and campus artists and musicians showcasing
their talents.
For their service to the citizens of the United States and
the world, George and Eleanor McGovern deserve to have this beautiful
new facility named for them. Exemplifying the Dakota Wesleyan University
motto of "Sacrifice or Service," George and Eleanor McGovern
are worthy role models for future generations of servant leaders.
