Award for Teaching Excellence
Marv Miller, professor of religion and philosophy, receives the golden apple from
Russell Willis, vice president for academic affairs and dean. The apple and a cash award
are given to the winner of the Clarke Award for Teaching Excellence. Miller was called
"a mentor, teacher's teacher, scholar, friend." A nomination said, "His
questions push students to stretch their minds without undercutting them in an uncaring
way."
