On May 6, 2001, Robert G. Duffett, president of Dakota Wesleyan University,
conferred degrees to 136 graduates during commencement in the Corn Palace.
Ninety-eight students received Bachelor of
Arts degrees and another 38 students received Associate of Arts degrees in nursing,
criminal justice and business administration.
Honorary doctorates were given to U.S. Sen.
Tom Daschle, and to L.B. "Bud" and Bonnie Williams. Daschle gave the
commencement address, telling students, "It's possible to do well and to do good at
the same time." |
