McGovern
Library Extra
Following nearly 10 years of fundraising and planning, the George
and Eleanor McGovern Library and Center for Leadership and Public
Service was dedicated
in style with thousands of guests on hand for the celebration. In attendance
were alumni, McGovern family members, students, lawmakers, community members,
trustees and ’72 McGovern supporters and staffers.

So, what’s involved in moving a library and planning a world-class
celebration?
Ben
Jukich’s “A” game
Like many young players, Ben Jukich had a dream of playing professional
baseball. When he graduated from high school in 2001, that dream
seemed unrealistic.
Now this Tiger standout is playing in the big leagues.
Turning
dirt
Next fall students will arrive on campus to another great addition:
Jackson Plaza. Planning is underway now to begin construction in
April. Located between the
McGovern Library, Rollins Campus Center/Sherman Center and Allen Hall, Jackson
Plaza will be a gathering place and showcase for the community.
