Science
is a Blast
You can’t spend time at DWU without seeing the illustrious
Dr. Mike Farney walking briskly across campus. In his trademark
white turtleneck and black pants, and occasionally his tie-dyed
lab coat, his passion for teaching science is legendary. In honor
of the 15th anniversary of the first South Central South Dakota
Science and Engineering Fair, we offer this insight into the legend.
Caring:
The Heartbeat of Science at DWU
The medical staff swings into action. A patient’s life hangs
in the balance. The insightful and gifted doctor saves the day,
and everyone breathes a sigh
of relief. The drama. The glamour. Is this what being a medical professional
is all about? Through the eyes of DWU’s professors and alumni, learn about
the science program at DWU.
Brock
Seim Leads DWU Hoops to National Tournament
There is no doubt that Mitchell is a basketball-crazy community.
A major part of the town’s affection for the round ball
is the DWU men’s basketball program. The most well-known
player this last season was Brock Seim, and in this feature,
you’ll learn about this exceptional student-athlete.
Alumni
Award Honorees
Congratulations to the recipients of this year’s DWU Alumni
Awards. We honor these alumni who have demonstrated their commitment
to “Sacrifice or Service” through
personal achievement and contributions to society and DWU.
