Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer
Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota invites applications for a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer. This individual will be responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Dakota Wesleyan University is an NAIA Institution and a member of the Great Plains Athletic Conference, one of the most competitive small college conferences in the NAIA. The university offers 15 varsity sports. This position will function as a Preceptor in the CAATE-accredited Athletic Training Education Program. Possible coverage responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Athletic Training Room / Soccer, Baseball / Softball, as well as overlapping season coverage. Hours of work will vary in accordance with athletic practice and contest schedules and may include early morning, nights and weekends. This position reports to the Director of Athletic Training. The position requires adherence to all NAIA and GPAC rules and regulations as well as the policies and procedures the DWU Athletic Training Department. Anticipated starting date: August 1, 2021. This is a 10- month appointment. The position provides a full tuition waiver, a $7,000 annual stipend, and $500 for dues, memberships and license.
Successful Candidates Will:
- Have an earned bachelor’s degree in athletic training
- Be BOC certified by August 1st, 2021 and be eligible for licensure in the state of South Dakota.
- Have been admitted to, or be eligible for admission to, a graduate program at the University.
