Anne Wessels Kelly
Professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Psychology
Dr. Anne Kelly, professor of behavioral sciences and psychology, and chairwoman of the psychology department, has been teaching at DWU since 2000. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Evergreen State College, Olympia, Washington, and her Master of Arts degree and Ph.D., both in experimental psychology, from the University of Nevada, Reno. Her research focuses on the causes, treatment and prevention of suicide. She is also a certified psychology autopsy investigator for the state of South Dakota and through her work as a certified QPR trainer. Her efforts in education have been recognized many times at DWU, most recently with the Clarke Award for Teaching Excellence in 2013. Kelly advises DWU’s Psi Chi chapter and chairs both the State Advisory Committee for South Dakota Youth Suicide Prevention and the Mitchell Area Suicide Prevention Coalition.
