Professional History: Dr. Lang's doctoral research specialization is ethics and educational theory. At the University of Illinois, John managed the Office of Volunteer Programs, which organizes civic engagement and service learning projects on campus and throughout the community. He also served as an educational policy researcher with the Office of Community College Research and Leadership, and as editor of the Journal of Aesthetic Education and Philosophy of Education. Alongside his doctoral work, John spent ten years in the nonprofit sector as executive director, development director, and board president. John brings to the nonprofit administration program a range of experience in affordable housing, economic development, and community building, as well as expertise in strategic planning, board development, fundraising, financial management, and program development.
