Family Weekend

You’re invited to Family Weekend at DWU! 

Sit in on a stimulating class lecture, eat lunch in our newly renovated Weston Food Court, take a tour of our beautifully updated campus and enjoy Blue & White Days (homecoming) festivities. 

Schedule of Events

Friday, Oct. 12

9 a.m. - 3 p.m. – Select classes will be open and available for you to attend.
9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. – Register and/or pick up your nametags at the registration table in the McGovern Library.
10 a.m. – First guided campus tour of the day. Meet in the McGovern Library.  
11 a.m. - 1 p.m. – Book signing and presentation by Dr. Sean Flynn in the McGovern Library.
Noon –  Eat a yummy lunch in the Weston Food Court. 
2 p.m. – Final guided campus tour of the day. Meet in the McGovern Library. 
4:30 p.m. – Family Weekend Reception in the McGovern Library.
7 p.m. – Campus Block Party on Jackson Plaza. 
6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. – DWU Women’s Volleyball vs. College of Saint Mary at the Corn Palace. Go Tigers! 

Saturday, Oct. 13

9:30 a.m. – Blue & White Days hospitality tent at CorTrust Bank parking lot, 719 N. Main Street, Mitchell. 
10 a.m. – Blue & White Days homecoming parade on Mitchell Main Street. 
11:30 a.m. – Tiger Tailgate with food trucks, kids’ activities and pep rally at Joe Quintal Field. 
1 p.m. – DWU Football vs. Dordt at Joe Quintal Field. #bleedblue 
 

Sunday, Oct. 14

10 a.m. – Fusion Contemporary Worship Service in the DWU Sherman Center. 
2 p.m. – Rock ‘N’ Roar: A Homecoming Choir and Bells Concert in the DWU Sherman Center. 

Your $50 registration fee (per family) includes: 

  • Lunch on Oct. 12, 
  • Admission to the FAMILY WEEKEND reception, 
  • Admission to the Block Party or DWU women’s volleyball game at the Corn Palace, 
  • Access to Blue & White Days hospitality tent during the homecoming parade,
  • Admission to the Tiger Tailgate and DWU football game at Joe Quintal Field, and
  • Admission to the Dakota Discovery Museum

Register by Sept. 12 to receive the $50 registration fee. $75 registration fee applies after Sept. 12 or on site. 
 
When you arrive, pick up your FAMILY WEEKEND badge at the McGovern Library.
