Mission Statement

The Criminal Justice Department aspires to:

(a) educate students about the criminal justice system through comprehensive and intellectually stimulating courses and experiences;

(b) engage students in a broad liberal arts setting where an interdisciplinary approach to knowledge is stressed;

(c) teach students to think critically, and communicate effectively, about diverse criminal justice issues and viewpoints; and

(d) prepare students for careers in criminal justice, including law enforcement, court services and corrections, as well as post-baccalaureate study.
